GROWTH-ORIENTED PSYCHOTHERAPY is the process of working with a therapist to explore problems and their solutions. People choose therapy to get help with a problem or gain direction toward a goal. They also seek help for a crisis that needs immediate attention.
CRISIS SUPPORT: Clients facing an immediate crisis and needing immediate assistance often benefit from increased attention. For clients in crisis, appointments can be scheduled more frequently than once per week until the crisis subsides.
WORKING THROUGH: For clients who wish to make changes in their lives and are not facing an immediate crisis. Regular weekly meetings provide an opportunity to explore options for change, practice new skills and ways of coping, and gain support toward achieving goals.
MAINTAINING: For clients who are working well on their own but would like a regular check-up to stay on track with their progress. Alternate week, once-per-month, or as-needed sessions can be scheduled.
